At the end of practice Micks would show the Dickies/BDI Ford Fusion tenth on the board. After making some changes to the car the No.02 team qualified in fourth. Micks manoeuvred the half mile oval in a time of 21.971 with an average speed of 81.9 mph. The No.02 Dickies/Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Fusion would line up on the starting grid on the outside of row two to start the Dickies 200.
Micks could not make up ground and was running in sixth when the fourth caution came out. At this time everyone came down pit road for service and Micks took fuel and then came back in under the same caution and took tires. This meant that that No.02 Dickies/BDI Ford Fusion would not have to come back to pit road for the duration of the race.
Micks restarted in fifteenth position but with fresh tires was on a mission moving to the front of the pack with ease. Micks had made his way up to fifth when a caution came out and all the leaders had to go back to pit road for service, leaving Micks with the lead.
Micks fought hard to maintain the lead in the Dickies 200 but after leading for twenty laps he couldn’t hold off the No.4 of Don Thompson Jr. and was filed back to fifth position.
Micks didn’t give up though, with a couple of late race cautions he was able to say right with the leaders who all had fresher tires, and with ten laps to go he made a pass for third position. Micks would cross the finish line in third and make the podium for the second week in a row.
"This Dickies/Beyond Digital Ford was not the best car out there tonight, we pitted early and didn’t have the tires to keep up to the leaders at the end, but those late cautions really helped us and we were able to pull off a third place finish. I’m especially happy that we made the podium in the Dickies 200 for our sponsor Dickies Canada. I want to congratulate Brandon ….. from Regina Saskatchewan who was crowned the 2010 Dickies Canadian Worker of the Year here today and he will take home a 2010 Dodge Ram pickup truck for his efforts."
Finish 1. Don Thompson Jr. 2. JR Fitzpatrick 3. Kerry Micks 4. Ron Beauchamp Jr.
